A major part of any design inspiration has always been fashion. And every season we, just as any design lovers would, do check out the hottest trends of various fashion houses around the world to see how these trends can be translated into interior design. This time we have chosen to draw inspiration from look books instead of catwalks and our attention was captured by none other than Alexander McQueen, Dior and Lala Berlin. Browse through to see if any of these Spring/Summer 2023 trends catches your attention for your next interior remodel!
1. Resort Vibes
One of this SS23 seasons' trend that we actually consider a rather timeless trend is resort vibes. And when we think of resort or vacation in terms of home interior, two rooms naturally spring to mind first - bathroom and bedroom. This time we have chosen to decorate the bedroom interior and the inspiration for this bedroom interior is drawn from
Lala Berlin Spring 2023 ready-to-wear collection.
Specifically our attention was caught by the look No.5 with it's beautiful mix of various patterns and textures. We have chosen the same route for our bedroom interior with the neutral & green color palette and various patterns mixed throughout the space. The patterns used in the space are rather different, however the key is to keep the the same color palette as it allows to create a layered look that doesn't get too overwhelming. And who said you can't do two wallpaper patterns in the same room, and in this case - on the same wall? We're all here for these fun experiments and just look how well these two palm prints work together! The
Large Palm Leaf Wallpaper In Mist Color from our
Beach House Wallpaper Collection is oversized enough to create a bold look, yet subtle enough to work as a beautiful background that allows you to layer other patterns and textures on top of it. For example the detailed rattan headboard and side tables add yet another layer of pattern to the room, while the rich velvet and silk fabrics adds textural richness to the whole interior.
2. Flower Power
Flowers and florals of any kind are always associated with Spring and Summer seasons and this year is no exception. This time, however, we have decided to look at
Dior Spring Summer 2023 and for one very good reason - it reminds us so much of a charming British countryside! Wild florals for every taste can be found in the beautiful Petites Fleurs motif by Dior which we feel is the perfect print for garden and gardening lovers. We especially love the combination of beautiful floral dresses and rain boots, which actually are one of the key clothing pieces of appropriate apparel for gardening and why not style them up with a beautiful dress, especially when the summers aren't that long to begin with?
If we're talking about an interior though, then a lounge room or living room might be the perfect place for garden-inspired setting for you to enjoy the outdoors indoors not only during summer but colder months as well. And if you prefer to have your interior more neutral flower-wise, then our
Light Green Botanical Foliage Wallpaper as seen in the image above might be the perfect wallpaper for you! It can serve as a beautiful neutral backdrop for actual wild flower bouquets and floral inspired colors that can be introduced in your interior as sofas, poufs or even pillows.
3. Silver Linings
Although gold and other warm-toned metals are usually considered more summer appropriate, this year silver is dominating not only the jewellery but also fashion industry. From all-silver outfits to bold accent accessories, this beautiful cool-toned metal is a must for every fashionista. Working in the niche of interior design though, silver and steel have always had our hearts skip a beat, especially when paired well with other metallic elements.
To create our Silver Linings inspired kitchen interior, we've looked at
Alexander McQueen SS23 collection for some inspiration. Given the boldness to this fashion houses' style, the silver seems to appear as a pop of accent not as a head-to-toe all-silver clothing design. While we do love all-steel chef inspired kitchen interiors, we believe that metallic elements are like a jewellery - best kept as an accent element, especially when we talk about spaces we must live in on a daily basis. You can easily bring silver into your kitchen interior by choosing the kitchen hardware, appliances and even cutlery in this metallic finish, however if you would like to accentuate the silver even more - pair it with beautiful greys throughout the space. And if you wish to follow the current interior trends and wow your guests by creating a unique kitchen interior, consider wallpapering the fifth wall - aka the ceiling!
We've done just that by using our
Dreamy Vintage Clouds Wall Mural on the ceiling and if you worry about the pattern repeat, there is no reason as this wall mural is repeatable thus you can cover almost any size of the ceiling. And did you notice how well the pattern of this wall mural works with the marble creating a luxe layered look? Match made in heaven, right?
